Wall art for the office
For a desk wall, A3 (29.7 × 42 cm) or 30 × 40 cm is usually the right size — big enough to register, small enough not to loom. If the print will sit behind you on video calls, go one size up and keep the design simple.
Office art has a job that living-room art does not: it has to survive being looked at for eight hours without becoming irritating, and increasingly it has to survive being a background on somebody else's screen.
That argues for geometry over detail. Bauhaus colour studies, Futura and letterform prints, clean modernist shapes — work that holds up at a glance and does not compete with your own face on a call. Busy, high-contrast patterns are the ones that read as visual noise through a webcam.
If the wall behind your desk is the one on camera, a single larger piece (A2, 42 × 59.4 cm) centred behind your chair looks more deliberate than a cluster. If the art is for you rather than for the call, a small print at desk height — A4 or 8 × 10 in — propped or hung close is the friendlier choice.
